Our strategy to reduce the impact of our activities on the environment

Our investments

A very important program has been implemented with the collaboration of a company specialized in Health, Security and Environment.

We pursue our investments : the program, set within the frame of our major accidents prevention policy gives large place to the achievement of prioritary actions to reduce environmental risk. These actions are focused on waste management and on emissions in the air, the water and in the soil.

Numerous surveys are regularly made: lightning survey, seismic survey, soil survey, sanitary risk survey . These surveys improve the risk management in our plants.


Quality of water

Among the numerous ongoing improvement programmes, several are directed toward water protection. For example, in our Synthron plant, major works have been performed to create a higher dike protecting the Brenne river and daily controls on the waste water station have been systematized. Moreover the waste water station has been extended with two basins of 1500m3 each. Today the performance of the waste treatment plant limits the pollution risk due to waste water.



Management of waste

Another priority is the management of stocks and the reduction of waste. All storage areas put in retention have been optimized and classified by class of danger


Quality of air

The products manufactured by Synthron may cause olfactive nuisance for their neighbourhood. We keep on working to reduce odours caused by some specific manufacturing processes. For instance, venting systems in the plant have been upgraded. These investments have allowed us to reduce the odours from ammonia, dimethylamine, acrylates


Renewable raw materials

These are renewable raw materials originating from plants, vegetable and trees. Renewable raw materials can be available within limit if they are well managed.
The future of chemistry lies partially in the growing use of renewable raw materials made from plant production and which respect the environment.
